You always here about wine and beer and cocktails pair with savory dishes or cheese but never sweets. Why is that? It’s funny how I never think about such thing until Allison Kave of First Prize Pies and Keavy Blueher of Kumquat Cupcakery joined forces to create Butter & Scotch. Their ultimate goal is to open a bar where they will pair cocktails with desserts. Until then they’re at the Brooklyn Flea selling their boozy snacks, like a white Russian caramel corn and a dark and stormy caramel corn.
I caught up with them at their kitchen as they were prepping for another weekend at the flea. It was great hanging out with these two ladies and definitely great to chat offline (a 2013 thing for me, hang out with people more face-to-face instead of on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram).
