Mile End

I have been going to Mile End Deli on Hoyt St for years. I first heard about this Montreal style Jewish delicatessen, when I read that they were literally driving down Montreal bagels from Montreal to Brooklyn. Luckily back then, I lived just few blocks from Mile End and was able to grab their delicious sandwiches to go and totally skipped the brunch crowd. Probably the most popular item on their menu is their smoked meat. I have had their smoked meat many times, as a platter, in a sandwich and in a burger form.

I’ve been wanting to photograph their kitchen in Red Hook for a while now but I guess with the opening of their new bagel shop, Black Seed Bagels, it sort of re-sparked that interest. Thank you to Noah Bernamoff and his Mile End crew for letting me hang out in the kitchen for few hours.
